Cat Friendly Clinic is a worldwide programme from the International Society of Feline Medicine, the veterinary division of the charity International Cat Care. They recognise that because of their unique nature and needs, taking cats to visit a veterinary clinic can be very stressful, both for cats and their caregivers. The Cat Friendly Clinic programme is designed to help address these issues by creating more cat friendly veterinary clinics and so reducing the stress for cats and making veterinary visits easier for caregivers as well.
We are beyond excited to announce that the Midlands Veterinary Hospital has been awarded an International Gold Standard as a Cat-Friendly Clinic, the 1st in South Africa & Africa!
What is a cat-friendly clinic?
Achieving an International Cat-Friendly Clinic accreditation involves all staff, from receptionists, nurses, and kennel assistants, through to vets. Staff at every accredited clinic have promised to handle and treat cats with understanding, gentleness, and respect, and to make every effort to make the visit to the clinic as stress-free for you and your cat as possible.
We are so proud of our team and all their hard work to achieve this fantastic certification of International Standard.
We operate an excellent after-hours service for emergencies and call-outs.
